On Tuesday, CBS released a prediction as to what the initial ranking of the College Football Playoff (released on Nov. 1) will look like.

It attempted to use a criteria similar to that of the selection committee. This includes strength of schedule, head-to-head records, and other variables.

Interestingly enough, it was Ohio State  — not Alabama — coming in with the top spot in the ranking. Alabama followed closely at No. 2. The rationale behind this order is the fact Alabama narrowly defeated Ole Miss — whereas OSU has won its games by rather comfortable margins.

Texas A&M and Tennessee find themselves at No. 6 and No. 7, respectively. Arkansas rolls in at No. 13, followed by Ole Miss (No. 17), Georgia (No. 18) and Florida (No. 22).
