The curious case of Tennessee running back Jalen Hurd still remains a bit ambigious.

UT’s leading back did not play in the fourth quarter of the thrilling victory over Georgia. Earlier in the game, a momentary lapse in judgement had Hurd fumble on the goal-line. It appeared to be an easy touchdown until the ball was dislodged via a huge hit.

Did this play into Hurd essentially being benched for the fourth quarter? CBS sideline reporter Allie LaForce admitted that no trainers went over to look on Hurd once he was taken out of the game.

During Wednesday’s teleconference, head coach Butch Jones remained cryptic on Hurd’s status, saying “We don’t comment on injuries. Jalen is day-to-day.”

With Alvin Kamara in tow, it will be fascinating to see what the running back rotation looks like versus the Texas A&M Aggies this upcoming Saturday.
