Never underestimate the difficulty of a road game in college football.

According to Arkansas reporter Andrew Hutchinson, AP No. 1 overall teams are 9-6 on the road against ranked conference opponents since 2007, with 10 of those games being decided by a touchdown or less.

In that span, No. 1 overall teams from the SEC are only 7-4 against ranked conference opponents on the road. That doesn’t bode well for Alabama, who will face No. 16 Arkansas in Fayetteville this weekend.

However, recent history suggests that the Tide should be just fine. Alabama has defeated Arkansas in nine consecutive games, which includes a 34.5-10.2 average margin in the 2010’s.

The Razorbacks will host the Tide at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN.
