Scott Stricklin is saying “thank you” instead of “goodbye.”

Mississippi State’s athletic director is taking the same position at Florida beginning Nov. 1, and he took the time to tweet a letter to Bulldogs fans in the week leading up to his departure.

“Thanks to each of you for all you’ve done to support the Bulldogs,” Stricklin wrote. ” … Being the athletic director at MSU has been an honor and a pleasure in every way, and that is in large part due to every Bulldog student, coach, staff member, alumni and fan.”

Stricklin, an MSU alum, received the 2015-2016 Under Armour Athletics Director of the Year Award and has overseen the most successful time in Bulldogs football history. MSU is on a school-record streak of six straight bowl games, and the Bulldogs spent five consecutive weeks ranked No. 1 in 2014.
