Austin Allen is having a fabulous year for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

The signal-caller has thrown for 2,048 yards and 18 touchdowns on the year. Not only has he cemented himself as a top quarterback within the SEC, but he also has boosted his draft stock considerably.

Allen suffered a knee injury against Auburn two weeks ago. Coming off of a bye week, there were questions as to whether Allen would feature this weekend versus Florida.

Head coach Bret Bielema addressed this topic during his Wednesday SEC teleconference:

“Austin Allen has got a bruise. It looked bad on film and was bad the day of the game but has been 100-percent healthy since that time.”

The Razorbacks will need a healthy Allen if its got any chance at upsetting the Gators. Jim McElwain’s team has a nasty, fast, physical, and athletic defense across the board. Bielema echoed this on Wednesday:

“The Gators had 15 quarterback hurries versus Georgia…how do you handle that? Well, it’s the cumulative effort. Could have only one sacks, but all of those hits could add up. It’s not just the sack numbers that matter.”

Arkansas LB Dre Greenlaw suffered a broken foot in the loss to Alabama early this past October. Greenlaw had become a staple with the Razorbacks’ linebacker corps.

While there was an early thought he’d be out for the year, Bielema isn’t ruling out a return for the sophomore:

“He continues to make strides. He’s done a nice job, [but] I don’t think we’ll see him the next two weeks. Those foot injuries are tough.”
