The SEC East race is officially over. Florida defended its crown with an impressive road win at LSU on Saturday.

Vanderbilt upset Ole Miss, and Tennessee managed to give up 740 yards of offense and still win the game.

Let’s check in on our weekly power rankings as we enter the final week of the regular season.

14. Missouri

Last week: 13

Skinny: With Vanderbilt’s win over Ole Miss, Missouri gets to drop back to No. 14 this week. Once again the Missouri defense struggled mightily giving up 63 points to the Vols at Neyland Stadium.

13. Mississippi State

Last week: 11

Skinny: Mississippi State lost to Arkansas in a game where basically no defense was played. Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Mississippi State are pretty interchangeable here, but we’ll put the Cats and Dores ahead of Mississippi State for now.

12. Vanderbilt

Last week: 14

Skinny: Derek Mason got a very nice win over Ole Miss this week. His defense bottled up the elusive freshman QB Shea Patterson. The ‘Dores now have five wins and play Tennessee next week. Five might be enough to earn a bowl bid, however, because of the Vandy’s exceptional APR score.

11. Kentucky

Last week: 12

Skinny: The Cats are officially bowl eligible for the first time since 2010. Now, they have the opportunity to make a major statement by beating Louisville in the final week. Can Stoops rally his team and knock off Lamar Jackson & Bobby Petrino? We can hope!

10. South Carolina

Last week: 10

Skinny: Jake Bentley got his fourth win of the season in a cupcake victory over Western Carolina. The Cocks get a crack at Clemson next week but are going bowling, regardless.

9. Ole Miss

Last week: 4

Skinny: Shea Patterson is pretty exciting, but he’s got work to do to become a great SEC quarterback. Kudos to Vanderbilt for getting the win over Ole Miss. The Rebels fall to a shocking 5-6, needing to win the Egg Bowl to qualify for a bowl.

8. Arkansas

Last week: 8

Skinny: The Hogs took care of business against Mississippi State, putting up a massive 455 yards of offense in just the first half. The Hogs’ D was mediocre at best, but it didn’t matter considering how many points the offense was generating.

7. Texas A&M

Last week: 7

Skinny: The Aggies just don’t look like they did earlier in the season. Sumlin’s team beat UTSA 23-10 to get their 8th win of the season.

Texas A&M squares off against LSU on Thanksgiving night this week.

6. Tennessee

Last week: 9

Skinny: Tennessee beat Missouri in high-flying fashion, but it didn’t matter in terms of the SEC East race. The Gators won at LSU and secured the trip to Atlanta. Did you notice that Missouri put up 740 yards of offense on Tennessee? And Tennessee still won? Strange. In fact, that’s the second time this season that Tennessee has given up 600+ yards of offense and still won the game.

5. Georgia

Last week: 6

Skinny: Jacob Eason had a decent game. Isaiah McKenzie was electric. The Dawgs won.

4. LSU

Last week: 2

Skinny: Ed Orgeron’s Tigers got beat at home by the Florida Gators in an emotional rivalry game. LSU was a heavy favorite, but couldn’t capitalize in the red zone. Next up, LSU gets the Aggies on Thanksgiving night.

3. Florida

Last week: 5

Skinny: The win in Baton Rouge was huge. Not only did the Gators have to travel to LSU in a year where they were supposed to play in Gainesville, but Florida won the game with a goal-line stand with the SEC East on the line. Coach Mac wins the East for the 2nd time in two years as the Florida head coach.

2. Auburn

Last week: 2

Skinny: Auburn cruised to an easy win. All eyes are now on the Iron Bowl. Can Auburn knock off the Tide?

1. Alabama

Last week: 1

Skinny: Alabama played Chattanooga, and the most interesting thing about the game was Nick Saban’s angry outburst at halftime. Let’s be honest, this was basically a bye week before the main event next week against Auburn.

It’s rivalry week!
