Texas A&M WR Speedy Noil turned himself in to a College Station police department on Tuesday morning based upon a marijuana charge.

The incident occurred this past Friday at his apartment — where police were initially called over a noise complaint. There was a strong odor of marijuana emanating from Noil’s place. When he answered the door, he became “verbally defensive and overall uncooperative.”

A search warrant was issued, and the police found 5.0 grams of the drug throughout the residence.

Responding to Noil’s situation, A&M has suspended the New Orleans native for its bowl game versus Kansas State:

This is the second time in which he’s been suspended from the program. He missed last year’s bowl game, and the season opener this season. Noil was also arrested in April for driving with a suspended license.

He hasn’t quite lived up to the lofty expectations he brought with him coming out of high school. Currently a junior, Noil could ultimately opt to leave for the NFL — or transfer to another program.

If he were to do that, he’d have to sit out one season before becoming eligible.
