The country’s biggest assistant coaching vacancy is still open at Alabama.

The Crimson Tide need to hire Steve Sarkisian’s replacement following Sark’s departure to the Atlanta Falcons.

FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman reported that Patriots assistant and former NFL OC Brian Daboll is expected to interview for the open position.

Daboll was a graduate assistant under Saban at Michigan State in 1998-99.

Daboll has coached in the NFL since 2000 where he started with the Patriots. He’s been an offensive coordinator with the Cleveland Browns (2000-01), Miami Dolphins (2011) and the Kansas City Chiefs (2012) during his career. He is currently the Patriots’ tight end coach.

It was reported that Alabama would also interview former NFL OC George Godsey.
