Georgia OL Solomon Kindley has been granted a redshirt for the 2016 season, according to the Athens-Banner Herald.

The freshman played just one snap during the season, and it looks like it will not be held against him. The one snap came in UGA’s third game against Missouri, and he didn’t play again for the remainder of the year.

Smart was unsure in November whether Kindley would even be granted a redshirt.

“We’re basically looking into all those with him to hopefully get him back,” Smart said in November. “To be honest with you, if he’s a really good player like we think he will be, then he may not play that next year anyway.”

The Jacksonville, Florida, native was rated a three-star prospect and the state of Florida’s No. 147 overall player in the class of 2016, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.
