Alabama starts spring practice exactly one week from today on March 21, but the team has been going through winter/spring workouts since its College Football Playoff loss against Clemson. Every team has for that matter.

And two players stood out among the rest in spring workout numbers: sophomore QB Jalen Hurts and early enrollee freshman LB Dylan Moses.

AL.com has the scoop and breakdown of every position, but Hurts and Moses were the most interesting.

Everyone knows dual-threat QB Jalen Hurts is fast and talented; he proved that in 2016 by winning the SEC Offensive Player of the Year award. Hurts ran a reported 4.48 40-yard dash. That’s probably hand-timed, but that’s seriously moving at 210 pounds. Hurts also put up 315 pounds on power clean, squatted 455 pounds and bench-pressed 355 pounds. But how does he compare to other Alabama players? Hurts bench-pressed more than many of the team’s defensive backs and wide receivers.

By comparison, the fastest 40-time for a QB this year at the NFL Combine was 4.54, ran by former TAMU QB Trevor Knight, who’s a heck of an athlete. Former Tennessee QB Joshua Dobbs ran a 4.64, and former Clemson QB Deshaun Watson ran a 4.66. So, Hurts’ 4.48 40-time is really moving.

While Hurts’ numbers are certainly eye-popping, early enrollee LB Dylan Moses’ numbers were even more impressive. At 6-foot-3, 235 pounds, Moses ran a scorching 4.46 40-yard dash. Moses also squatted 500 pounds, power cleaned 335 pounds and bench-pressed 405 pounds.

What’s even more insane? The kid hasn’t even played his first game yet. Hell, he hasn’t even played a spring game yet. Maybe that’s why Moses received offers from Alabama and LSU in the eighth grade. What a freak.

At some point someone is going to check for leaky oil for players on Alabama’s roster, because they’re literally Cyborgs.
