College football’s premier pregame show officially has a first week location.

While on The Opening Kickoff on WNSP-FM 105.5, analyst and ESPN personality Lee Corso let the cat out of the bag.

“We’re going to Alabama-Florida State,” he said [via AL.com]. “It’s going to be that one because it is two excellent football teams. We’re going to be starting the season going to a tremendous football game.”

Did you think the pregame show would go anywhere else? Of course not. The game will be held in Atlanta on September 2 in the new Mercedes Benz Stadium for the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic, assuming the construction gets completed on time. If the construction is delayed, the old Georgia Dome would host the game.

The Alabama vs. Florida State game very well could be No. 1 vs. No. 2, and several have one or both teams making the College Football Playoff this season.

Former FSU coach Bobby Bowden recently discussed the thrilling opener while in Birmingham, even saying that FSU and Alabama were his two favorite teams.

“It’s a great way to open the season,” Bowden said. “It’ll be a good football game. We know ‘Bama is going to be good, but I’ll tell you, Florida State is going to be good, too.”

The game pits defensive genius Nick Saban against his protege Jimbo Fisher, who has proven he can put an elite offense on the field. Following Alabama’s spring game, Saban called Fisher the best offensive coordinator he’s had at any level. That’s tremendous praise from arguably college football’s best coach of all time.

Can Fisher become the first Saban disciple to take down his former boss?
