For some Georgia fans, Jacob Eason made his first big impression in the late stages of the Missouri game last season when he found Isaiah Mckenzie in the end zone on fourth down.

But there were other memorable parts of the 2016 season when Eason joined the Bulldogs. Eason recently recalled several key moments of his freshman season with 247Sports in California at “The QB Retreat,” which is an event for the top high school and college quarterbacks in the country.

Among the topics covered were his first home game in Sanford Stadium, which proved to be a narrow escape against Nicholls State.

“That was awesome because it playing at home for the first time and my first start,” Eason told 247Sports. “That was a good experience. Something I’ll never forget. Snuck away with the win. It’s always fun coming out in Sanford and seeing all the fans and all the red, so it’s a good time.”

Eason also described his first game ever as a Bulldog in the Georgia Dome against North Carolina, which also included his first mistake, a botched flea flicker.

On Kirby Smart, Eason said when Smart’s working, he’s working, and when it’s time to have fun, he can have fun.

“I’m looking forward to a good couple of years with him, learning from him, learning the defensive perspective,” Eason said. “He’s a tremendous worker. He does a real good job.”

Eason listed several potential breakout candidates for this season.

“Honestly, I think a lot of our receivers are. Obviously Isaac (Nauta). Couple of our linemen are going to have a tremendous year. Terry (Godwin) had a really good spring and so did Javon (Wims)… All of our receivers are going to catch the ball and can run fast and are buying in, so I’m excited to see what we can do. Our defense is obviously top-notch too.”
