This isn’t something we see everyday. Georgia went way out of state to land its latest commitment.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, native Owen Condon committed to the Georgia Bulldogs Saturday. His mother was a cheerleader and graduated from the university, and he became the Dawgs’ sixth commitment for the class of 2018.

“My mom loved Georgia – she was really happy and freaking out when I got the offer,” Condon told 247Sports earlier this year. “It is her alma mater so she was trying to see what had changed since she graduated. She enjoyed seeing what was new. She has some good friends who also went there and still live there and she stayed with them. It was just a great experience for here and myself as well.”

Condon is rated as a 3-star prospect and ranked as the No. 44 offensive tackle and the state’s No. 8 player, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. Condon became the Bulldogs second offensive line commit, joining offensive guard pledge Warren Ericson.

After spending a couple days in Athens, Condon pulled the trigger.

The 6-foot-7 and 300-pound tackle released the news via his Twitter account:
