Legendary Auburn coach Pat Dye has been a great quote this off-season.

Paul Finebaum of the SEC Network has had Dye on his radio show a couple of times to talk SEC football. Each time, the former Tigers head coach has said something startling.

Back in May, Dye brought up Auburn possibly being relocated to the SEC East.

“I’d rather see Auburn in the East than us play Alabama every year,” he said.

This raised questions that SEC commissioner Greg Sankey squashed at SEC Media Days.

In June, Dye told Finebaum that “We could play football for another 500 years and we couldn’t catch up with the tradition Alabama has got.”

Auburn fans were not too happy about one of their icons talking high about their most-hated rival.

Just yesterday, Dye came on Finebaum’s show again. This time, he had a big positive thing to say about the Auburn football program.

“I think this is the most talented football team I’ve seen at Auburn, top to bottom,” he said.

With Jarrett Stidham being named the starting quarterback Monday, all eyes will be on the Baylor transfer to see if he can live up to Dye and Auburn fans’ expectations.
