Tennessee head coach Butch Jones told SiriusXM College Sports Nation on Friday that he sees the state of Georgia as a “home recruiting territory.”

“The great metropolitan area of Atlanta, we have a lot of our players from that area,” Jones said. “The ability for them to go home and play in front of their friends, and to have the opportunity to play in the Mercedes-Benz Dome … I know our players are looking forward to going to Atlanta.”

Jones noted that recruiting is the “centerpiece” of Tennessee’s program.

He also spoke about his relationship with Tennessee’s new athletic director John Currie before emphasizing the Vols’ back-to-back nine win seasons and three straight bowl victories.
