New schools, same problems: All three Alabama QB transfers failed to land starting jobs

The Alabama Crimson Tide have experienced a stunning exodus of quarterbacks over the past calendar year.
It all started last year, when Blake Barnett won the job coming out of summer camp, but was replaced by Jalen Hurts early in the first game.
He transferred to Arizona State and was followed by Cooper Bateman (Utah) and David Cornwell (Nevada) on his way out of Tuscaloosa.
However, CBS Sports writer Barton Simmons noticed on Tuesday that none of the three Alabama transfers managed to land starting jobs at their new schools:

In fact, Barnett was the only one to actually play this weekend, completing two of his three pass attempts for the Sun Devils for 21 yards in a narrow 37-31 victory over New Mexico State.
Bateman is now a wide receiver for the Utes, but didn’t make any catches in a win over North Dakota.
Cornwell, meanwhile, was on the sidelines as Nevada lost to Northwestern, 31-20.
Though all three may eventually earn more playing time as the season wears on, it’s fair to wonder whether they regret leaving Alabama right now.
