The main theme for Alabama during the first half against Fresno State?

Jalen Hurts.

Alabama leads Fresno State 28-3 at halftime behind Hurts’ play-making ability. He’s 12-of-13 for 112 yards and one TD through the air and has added 119 yards rushing and two TDs. Having already combined for 231 yards and three TDs, he could be on his way to a career day.

It started from the get-go, too, as Hurts completed his first pass for 18 yards, and then he ripped off a 55-yard TD run. There aren’t too many players in college football that can take it to the house on that play.

Hurts then followed that up with a beautiful 23-yard TD pass to TE Hale Hentges on the next drive.

Hurts added another three-yard TD run on the Tide’s next drive.

With so much talk surrounding Hurts during the off-season, he’s stepped up to the challenge early in 2017. He’s just making plays and helping Alabama roll on.

I suspect we’ll see a good bit of Tua Tagovailoa in the second half.
