Arkansas receiver Jared Cornelius’ day ended in the third quarter of Saturday’s game against Texas A&M.

But he may be gone far longer.

Cornelius, a senior receiver for the Razorbacks, was injured on the team’s opening offensive play of the second half. He did not return to the game, but was later seen on the sideline with a protective boot and walking with the help of crutches. At the time he exited, Cornelius had three receptions for 35 yards.

Following the Razorbacks’ 50-43 loss in overtime, coach Bret Bielema was unsure of the severity of the injury, aside from it having something to do with Cornelius’ Achilles.

Cornelius entered this fall as Arkansas’ top returning pass receiver. Last season, he had 32 catches for 515 yards and five touchdowns.
