It was not easy Saturday, but the Gamecocks took the game over Louisiana Tech by a score of 17-16.

The Gamecocks were shut out until the fourth quarter by the Bulldogs before scoring 14 straight to take a 14-13 lead with under five minutes to go. Tech would go down and kick a go-ahead field go with 55 seconds left in the game.

Luckily for South Carolina, that turned out to be just enough time for QB Jake Bentley. Bentley found WR Bryan Edwards for a 41-yard gain to set up Parker White’s game-winning field goal.

Here is a look at what coach Will Muschamp said following the hard-fought victory:

“Glad Jake Bentley is my quarterback.” Muschamp also says  he is still building the culture at South Carolina.

The Gamecocks will need to play much better moving forward. They now face a stretch of six consecutive SEC matchups beginning with Texas A&M next Saturday.
