Dak Prescott is off to an incredible start for his NFL career.

The former MSU star QB and current Dallas Cowboys starter led Dallas to a 13-3 record and NFC East division title as a rookie in 2016. He was selected to the Pro Bowl and was named the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year for his performance.

The Cowboys are off to a 2-1 start this season, and Prescott came up big Monday in the 28-17 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. He completed 13 of 18 passes for 183 yards and 2 TDs while adding 16 yards rushing and another TD on the ground.

The Numbers were impressive, and it was Prescott’s work moving outside of the pocket that opened up a number of big passing plays for the Cowboys. After the game, Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett took time in his press conference to praise Prescott’s performance in the game:

“It was remarkable,” said Garrett. “His mental toughness is off the charts. He demonstrates it week in and week out. Throughout that ballgame, things didn’t come easily to us, and he just kept battling, kept making good decisions. Obviously made some great plays out of the pocket, he made some big time throws.”

Garrett was clearly impressed by Prescott’s play, but he also pointed out that the young QB is already a leader that the team rallies behind:

“As much as anything else, he’s got an amazing spirit,” Garrett explained, “And it’s contagious and our players follow him.”
