Troy head coach Neal Brown joined ESPNU Radio on SiriusXM Sunday after his team upset LSU 24-21 on Saturday night.

He said he wasn’t surprised to see his team beat LSU.

“We’ve been knocking on this door for a long time,” Brown said. “I want to make sure that college football fans understand we didn’t just show up tonight and play well. We’re a program that has won three national championships at the lower levels.

“With these upper-tier, blue bloods of college football, we’ve been knocking on the door,” Brown added. “To finally come through tonight was huge. The story nationally is going to be, ‘What’s happened to LSU?’ The fact is we’ve got some really good players … Our kids played with a tremendous amount of heart … They really struggled with our movement up front.

“I knew we were sitting on a big game,” Brown said. “Our guys had no doubt they could come in here and win the football game.”
