It looks like Bryant-Denny Stadium will receive some security upgrades for Alabama’s upcoming game against Mercer.

Alabama survived a scare on the road against Mississippi State over the weekend to return home with a 10-0 record. The Tide stayed undefeated and could find themselves ranked No. 1 in the next round of rankings for the Playoff after Georgia’s loss to Auburn.

The Crimson Tide will look to reach 11-0 with a win over Mercer in front of their home crowd this weekend, and it appears fans will experience more security measures at the game.

Alex Byington shared the news on Twitter that Alabama will utilize new metal detectors at the stadium entrance on Saturday:

Fan safety is of utmost importance with more than 100,000 fans packed into the stadium on game day. The practice of using metal detectors is commonplace throughout most professional leagues, and it is good to see Alabama taking proactive measures in an attempt to enhance fan safety.

Saturday’s kickoff against Mercer is set for 12 pm EST on the SEC Network.
