On Sunday, a delegation of Florida representatives flew to New Hampshire to meet with former NFL and Oregon coach Chip Kelly.

However, they left without inking the talented coach to a contract, which raises concerns that UCLA, who fired coach Jim Mora on Sunday, could swoop in and steal Kelly from under the Gators’ noses.

According to Florida insider Darren Heitner, the lack of a contract for Kelly at this point is concerning. He went as far as to say the Gators are in “wait and see” mode with Kelly now:

It makes sense that Kelly would want to carefully weigh his options, as he is one of the most sought-after coaches on the market. However, the Gators don’t want to get left behind as the coaching carousel spins.

If Kelly is going to end up in Gainesville, it will likely happen sometime this week. If not, the Gators will be forced to regroup and quickly move on to Plan B.
