Tennessee fans are not happy with news that broke on Sunday that the school was nearing a deal with Ohio State DC Greg Schiano to be the Vols’ next head coach.

That led to massive protests outside the Tennessee facilities in Knoxville as well as several prominent Tennessee politicians condemning the rumored hire due to Schiano’s connection to the child abuse scandal at Penn State.

Now, it appears as if Vol Nation may have gotten its way, as the most recent reports state that the deal between Schiano and Tennessee is falling apart:

The backlash may put AD John Currie’s job in jeopardy, as prominent boosters reportedly aren’t very happy with the embarrassment the Tennessee program has gone through on Sunday:

The search to replace Butch Jones has been an absolute disaster from the very start, and Currie has yet to speak on the current situation.

What happens next remains to be seen, but it appears the Vols are going to try to find a less-polarizing candidate than Schiano moving forward.
