It’s no secret Roquan Smith is a talented player, and he will face an interesting decision this offseason.

The junior LB of the Bulldogs is having the kind of season that most players can only dream of. He has already captured the SEC Championship MVP, SEC Defensive Player of the Year Award, and Butkus Award. Smith has also been named an All-American by nearly every publication around and will compete in the College Football Playoff.

The stats for Smith this year are certainly impressive. He has posted 113 total tackles, 10.5 TFL, and 5.5 sacks this season. 2017 also marks the second straight year that he will have played at least 13 games while posting at least 95 tackles and 5 TFL.

There’s no denying fans would love to see him return for his senior season in Athens, but Smith must decide if now is the time to leave for the NFL. According to Lance Zierlain with NFL.com, Smith’s draft stock continues to rise after his impressive season. A Rose Bowl matchup against Oklahoma and Baker Mayfield will also give Smith the opportunity to boost his stock with a strong showing on a national stage.

Here is what one AFC executive had to say about Smith:

“Great player. Really fun to watch because he can get to just about any play on the field and he’s only going to get better. You would love to play him inside but he might have to slide to WILL (weakside linebacker).”

Will Smith head to the NFL early or return for his senior season with the Bulldogs?
