It was reported Wednesday that former LSU Tigers head coach Les Miles was in contact with Arizona concerning the open head coaching position, and it is also being indicated that Miles may have a name in mind for his OC position.

According to Sports Illustrated reporter Bruce Feldman, Miles has interest in bringing in former Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze as OC if Miles ever makes a return as head coach. While Wednesday’s report indicated that there is mutual interest between Miles and the Wildcats, it remains to be seen if anything serious will develop between the two parties.

As Feldman points out in his Thursday report, one of the biggest concerns surrounding Miles as a coach is his offense following struggles on that side of the ball while at LSU. Having Freeze by his side, who turned Ole Miss into one of the most prolific offensive teams in the country, could help put those concerns in the past.

Of course, having Freeze along for the ride also comes with a bit of baggage. Freeze was forced to resign, or be fired, as head coach of the Rebels leading up to this season as a result of personal misconduct.
