Mark Stoops has himself quite the pipeline going in the state of Ohio.

On Wednesday, that pipeline saw yet another big-time Ohio recruit sign with Kentucky.

According to Kentucky Sports Radio’s Matt Jones, 4-star linebacker Chris Oats signed with the Wildcats instead of Ohio State:

Oats is the No. 22 outside linebacker and the No. 325 player overall in the 2018 class. He went on a late official visit to Cincinnati, but ultimately decided to roll with Stoops.

That’s a big-time recruiting victory for Kentucky, which already had 20 recruits signed for the 2018 class. Oats is the highest-rated defensive player and the third-highest rated player overall in Kentucky’s incoming class. Interestingly enough, Oats is also Kentucky’s first outside linebacker signee.

Kentucky currently has the No. 11 class in the SEC and the No. 37 overall.
