It’s safe to say that John Calipari was not a fan of Ole Miss’ decision to move on from Andy Kennedy.

Well, the “mutual parting of ways” was considered a big shock to the coaching community, including Calipari.

After Kentucky earned an SEC quarterfinal victory against Georgia on Friday, Calipari weighed in on the post-Kennedy era:

Some would argue that Calipari’s got a point. Kennedy did spend 12 seasons at Ole Miss and win 102 games. Entering 2017, he led Ole Miss to 3 straight 20-win seasons. In all, he racked up 245 wins.

The problem, however, was that Kennedy only took the Rebels to 2 NCAA Tournaments. He was in the midst of his first season with a losing record since he arrived in Oxford more than a decade earlier.

Who knows what’s in store for the future of Ole Miss hoops.

According to Calipari, the Rebels are in for some rough times in the post-Kennedy era.
