Dak Prescott has an important 2018 campaign in front of him.

Among the league’s lowest paid QBs around $680,000 annually, Prescott is eligible for a long-term extension following the season. He could become the league’s next $100 million player.

It’ll certainly be interesting to see how Prescott handles the pressure of potentially a huge payday, but he’s certainly not lacking any confidence.

“I want to be the best I can,” Prescott said at the team’s annual Reliant Home Run Derby to benefit the Salvation Army, via SportsDay. “I want to be the best quarterback that the Cowboys ever had. So when I go in each and every day, it’s just about being the best player I can be. All that stuff comes when you play the game well.”

What do you expect him to say, though? Of course, if Prescott wasn’t a competitor, he wouldn’t be in this position. But the best Cowboys’ QB ever? That’s certainly some elite company ahead of Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman.

The former fourth-round pick boasts a 22-10 overall record in two career seasons, throwing for nearly 7,000 yards, 45 TDs and 17 INTs.

He’s certainly off to a strong start.
