Former Georgia standout Alec Ogletree is hoping to have an instant impact with the New York Giants.

The Los Angeles Rams traded Ogletree to the Giants this off-season. The NYPost.com recently did a Q&A with Ogletree, and he was asked if his Georgia career was disappointing.

“Somewhat. I feel like I could have done things a little differently,” Ogletree said, via NYPost. “It was mainly my fault. I felt like that’s why I didn’t have the career I wanted to have. I made some mistakes during college. I definitely saw myself doing bigger things in college than what I did. You live and you learn. I didn’t have a bad experience in college.”

Ogletree’s answer has to take into effect three incidents: DUI arrest while training for the NFL Draft, four-game marijuana suspension and a misdemeanor arrest for stealing a bike helmet.

Despite the off-the-field incidents, the Rams picked the immensely talented Ogletree No. 30 overall in the 2013 NFL Draft, and they got their money’s worth. In five career seasons with the Rams, Ogletree racked up 367 tackles and 5.5 sacks before being traded to New York.

The Newnan, Georgia, native entered Georgia as the nation’s No. 1 safety, but he’s blown into one of the NFL’s best inside linebackers.
