This season, Auburn has some challenging games away from home on its schedule. So it will likely be important for the Tigers to take care of business when they’re at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Gus Malzahn doesn’t think that’s going to be an issue.

“We do have one of the better home-field advantages in our league, and, you know, that’s a big thing,” Malzahn said at SEC Media Days in Atlanta on Thursday. “And when you go on the road against the top teams in this league, that’s very challenging. Matter of fact, when you go on the road against anybody in this league, it’s challenging. Obviously, the more talented the team, the tougher it is.

“There’s some great venues in this league. Some of the toughest places to play in all of college football. And our home-field advantage is real.”

This year, Auburn travels to Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Georgia and Alabama. The last two road matchups are particularly tough, as the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide were the two teams that played in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game last season.

The Tigers will also be away from home to start the season when they play Washington at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Sept. 1. However, Auburn will have four consecutive home games after its season opener against the Huskies.

Last year, the Tigers went 7-0 at home. They have won 12 consecutive games at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Their last home loss came against Texas A&M on Sept. 17, 2016.
