It’s been a while since Tennessee football was a perennial powerhouse. It’s been 11 years since the Volunteers won the SEC East and two decades since they won the conference championship.

This past offseason, the Volunteers experienced a tumultuous coaching search with the fan base boycotting the initial hire of coach Greg Schiano.

But that doesn’t mean Tennessee isn’t still a premier destination for recruits. At least graduate transfer running back Madre London says so.

“Tennessee is Tennessee. Great fan base. Great school,” London said according to Marshall Hughes of WATE Sports. “Who wouldn’t want to play at Tennessee.”

London transferred to Tennessee from Michigan State for his final year of his eligibility. He played 26 games over three seasons with the Spartans, but after starting six games as a redshirt freshman in 2015, he only started two contests in the last two seasons combined.

In 26 games, London rushed for 870 yards and 7 touchdowns while averaging 4.1 yards per carry. Last season, he gained 250 yards and scored twice.

London has looked impressive during fall camp and figures to be in a timeshare with sophomore running backs Tim Jordan and Ty Chandler this season.
