Clemson just completed a home-and-home series with Auburn and added another one against LSU this week. As great as those matchups were and will be, it’s not the crown jewel ACC-SEC matchup. For fans living in South Carolina and northern Georgia, that would be Clemson vs. Georgia.

But despite adding LSU to its schedule in 2025 and 2026 on Thursday, a renewal of the Clemson-Georgia rivalry is still on the table according to ESPN writer David Hale. Hale recently spoke with Clemson AD Dan Radakovich.

These two teams, who are separated by just 70 miles, did meet in a home-and-home series in 2013 and 2014, but prior to that, Clemson and Georgia hadn’t played since 2003.

From 1962-87, the Tigers and Bulldogs played every year but two. Over the last two decades, however, they have only squared off four times.

In the most recent home-and-home series, the teams each won in their own stadiums. The Bulldogs own a rather large advantage in the overall series with a 42-18-4 overall record against Clemson.

With these two programs national contenders, though, fans might not have to wait until a home-and-home series to see them meet. It could very well happen in the College Football Playoff.
