Tennessee looked sluggish in the first half against UTEP on Saturday, but Ty Chandler quickly injected some life back into Neyland Stadium once play resumed.

The sophomore running back took a toss 81 yards down the left sideline for a touchdown that put the Volunteers in front 17-0. Chandler went untouched on the play, bursting through the hole then turning on the burners to outrun the Miners secondary.

While Chandler’s big run provided a jolt of energy the Volunteers needed, it also represented the longest gain on the ground for a Tennessee player since 2006.

We’ll see if the Volunteers can build on this momentum and pull away from UTEP.
