Though Auburn receiver Will Hastings made a miraculously quick recovery from a torn ACL during spring practice, he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of taking a redshirt this season.

Hastings, who returned to the field for the Tigers’ 63-9 win against Alabama State on Sept. 9, revealed his plans to reporters Tuesday. Under the new redshirt rule, Hastings can play up to four games and still maintain his option to redshirt this season.

The senior needed jut 5 1/2 months to return from the knee injury he suffered March 24, so he’s naturally not quite 100 percent healthy yet. Hastings has not recorded a catch this season, which includes limited action against Alabama State and LSU.

A contributor in all 14 games for Auburn last year, Hastings caught 26 passes for 525 yards and four touchdowns.
