LSU’s offensive line depth will continue to get tested this weekend.

During his Monday press conference, Tigers coach Ed Orgeron said his team could be without as many as three starting offensive linemen against Ole Miss on Saturday.

“We do not know when Garrett (Brumfield) is going to be back but we have a rotation,” Coach O said. “We still have Donavaughn Campbell as he rotated in at the other guard and he would probably be the other guy to go in if somebody gets hurt.”

Brumfield, a senior who anchors the line at left guard, was injured in the first half of last Saturday’s win against Louisiana Tech and was spotted on crutches afterward. Junior right tackle Adrian Magee hasn’t played since suffering a leg injury in the season opener against Miami.

Sophomore Saahdiq Charles, meanwhile, missed the Louisiana Tech game as LSU used its fourth offensive line combination in as many contests.

With so many injuries on the line and a few young players struggling to fill in, Orgeron has considered inserting true freshman defensive lineman Dare Rosenthal into the rotation.

“Yeah, he’s not ready, I wish he was,” Orgeron said. I wish we could have moved him a lot sooner, he probably would be ready, but he’s not ready right now and I would not put him in. Hopefully we’re going to get of these injured guys back pretty soon.”

The offensive line is obviously a point of concern for the Tigers, especially as they enter the thick of SEC play. We’ll see how No. 5 LSU (4-0, 1-0 SEC) plans to compensate for the injuries when it hosts Ole Miss (3-1, 0-1) at 9 p.m. on Saturday.
