Former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy led the Crimson Tide to Saban’s first national title as Alabama’s head coach in 2009. He was part of the team that changed the culture in Tuscaloosa and brought Alabama to the forefront of college football for years to come.

Since his football career ended, McElroy has enjoyed success in the broadcast booth. After joining the SEC Network when it launched in 2014, McElroy serves as an analyst and also hosts a podcast with former LSU defensive end Marcus Spears called “Thinking Out Loud”.

McElroy was always known for being a smart football player, but on Nick Saban’s weekly radio show in Tuscaloosa, he revealed the former quarterback had another significant skill as well.

Warning: language

McElroy threw for over 5,600 yards and 39 touchdowns in his time at Alabama, but it seems as though the other skill Saban referenced has helped him more in his post-Alabama career.

All jokes aside, McElroy has done a great job in the booth since taking that role, and everyone loves seeing Saban crack a joke every once in a while.
