Rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield will make his first start for the Cleveland Browns on Sunday against the Oakland Raiders. But even before that happens, Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport that he has to prepare differently now that it’s Mayfield and not Tyrod Taylor behind center.

“I was talking to coach [Todd] Haley this week,” Landry told Rapoport on the RapSheet and Friends podcast. “I got to turn up the JUGS machine to like eight or nine now since Baker throws that ball so hard. He threw one to me in the game, and I dropped it because I didn’t even know how to put my hands, and before I could make the decision, the ball was on me. So, I just realized it’s a little bit of a different ball, a lot more velocity, so I definitely got to get on the JUGS for that, and catch as many balls from Baker as possible.”

Mayfield came on to replace Taylor, who suffered an injury, and led the Browns back from a 14-point deficit against the New York Jets to win their first game since Dec. 24, 2016 last Thursday. Browns coach Hue Jackson named Mayfield the starter this week.

In his first season with the Browns, Landry leads the team with 278 receiving yards and 20 catches.
