WATCH: James Franklin has to be restrained after fan criticizes play calling following loss to Ohio State

Although the boxscore won’t show it, the Ohio State-Penn State came down to a fourth quarter fourth down play.
The Buckeyes fought their way back from a 26-14 deficit to beat the Nittany Lions 27-26. With the game on the line, Penn State had a fourth and five to keep the game alive on the final drive, and James Franklin called a zone-read running play that was immediately stuffed by the Buckeyes.
PSU QB Trace McSorley has been touted as a Heisman Trophy candidate, and to take the ball out of his hands on the final play was suspect at best. Fans and media alike hammered Franklin on social media following the game.
One fan criticized Franklin’s final play call to his face, and Penn State’s head coach had to be restrained.
