Jeremy Pruitt was emotional after the loss to Georgia on Saturday because he was proud with the way his players, especially on defense, responded to the Bulldogs.

DB Nigel Warrior, who had five tackles against Georgia, explained on Tuesday to reporters how they took Pruitt’s reaction to the improved effort.

“We fought that game and we got better, and I feel like that’s why he got a little bit emotional, because he saw us getting better,” Warrior said. “With that being said, that makes us want to play even harder.”

Tennessee fell to 2-3 with the loss and 0-2 in the SEC, but Warrior said that the players have learned something about the team after five games and entering the bye week. He said there’s progress every day.

“It just shows us that we need to become one, get tighter and start to trust each other on and off the field, coaches, players, do our job and execute,” he said.
