Already a Heisman Trophy winner, former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow will take a deeper step into Gator history on Saturday when he is inducted into the Florida football program’s “Ring of Honor.”

In becoming the sixth member of an exclusive group of Florida football legends, Tebow will have his name immortalized in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

The enormity of the situation hasn’t quite hit the Gator great yet, but Tebow says that it probably will on Saturday.

“I think probably in the moment (it will), but then also coming back years from now it will continue to sink in,” Tebow told reporters Friday, per 247Sports’ Thomas Goldkamp. “The honor isn’t really for tomorrow, it’s later on, years from now, bringing my kids back to it as well. I think that will be really special.”

During his time in Gainesville, Tebow led the Gators to a 35-6 record, two national championships and a No. 1 ranking in the Associated Press Top 25, so the stadium will likely be rocking when the honor is presenting during the LSU-Florida game.

Tebow will be joined by many of his teammates from the 2008 national championship Florida team, which will also be recognized Saturday in The Swamp.
