The debate that has been bubbling under the surface all season long finally came to a head during Georgia’s devastating loss against LSU last Saturday: Should Justin Fields receive more playing time at quarterback?

Just about everyone has weighed in over the last few days, and SEC Network analyst Jordan Rodgers voiced his opinion during an appearance on Tuesday’s The Paul Finebaum Show.

Fields played only a few snaps as the then-No. 2 Bulldogs suffered a 36-16 loss in Baton Rouge, rushing once for three yards and not even attempting a pass. Staring quarterback Jake Fromm, meanwhile, threw two interceptions as he struggled to escape LSU’s swarming defense.

Many pundits and fans questioned why Georgia coach Kirby Smart never handed things over to Fields, a superstar recruit who has looked explosive in limited action this season, even when it became obvious the Bulldogs weren’t going anywhere with Fromm under center. Smart refused to second-guess himself following the game, but it will be interesting to see if Fields gets more opportunities moving forward.
