It would be foolish to expect Lee Corso to reveal his choice of headgear before he breaks it out for his final pick on College GameDay.

But the ESPN analyst did give a slight hint Friday, and it’s one that Florida fans will surely latch onto.

“Florida is a very good football team,” Corso said during a meeting with reporters, according to 247Sports.com’s Florida website. “They lost one game to Kentucky but they’re really good and they’re coming on real strong. They’ve passed more tests than Georgia. Georgia has had one test and failed it.”

Corso, of course, is referring to the Bulldogs’ demoralizing 36-16 loss at No. 4 LSU on Oct. 13. The Tigers are the only opponent Georgia has faced this year that’s currently ranked in the AP Top 25, and the severity of that defeat has left many wondering if the No. 7 Bulldogs are truly national title contenders.

“I think their defense is good but they don’t have as many superstars on defense,” Corso said. “The quarterback is just as good, but I’ll tell you what, it’s a lot different team. They haven’t passed a test yet. LSU was a test and they failed. Florida is a test.”

The No. 9 Gators beat LSU 27-19 on Oct. 6 to hand the Tigers their only loss of the season. If Georgia is to win the SEC East, it will almost certainly have to pass two huge tests in quick succession —Florida this weekend and then No. 12 Kentucky on Nov. 3.

We’ll see if the Gators (6-1, 4-1 SEC) are too much of a test for the Bulldogs (6-1, 4-1) when the rivals square off at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday in Jacksonville.
