Jalen Hurts had surgery on his injured right ankle last week, leading to the Alabama quarterback being limited in practice ahead of Saturday’s game against LSU.

Tua Tagovailoa may have to carry the entire load at quarterback this week as Hurts was seen arriving at Tiger Stadium on Saturday wearing a walking boot on his right foot.

While Tagovailoa has started every game for the Crimson Tide this season, Hurts has played in all eight games as well. Hurts has passed for 589 yards and five touchdowns in limited action.

The Crimson Tide haven’t played a close game during their 8-0 start, which has led to many opportunities for Hurts to get playing time.

However, even if Hurts wasn’t injured entering the LSU game, Tagovailoa may have been slated to play the whole matchup against the Tigers anyway. This is the most challenging game that Alabama has had so far.

The Crimson Tide and Tigers are set to kick off at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
