ESPN analytics expert says 12-1 Michigan would be favored to get into Playoff over 12-1 Alabama
The Alabama Crimson Tide are 10-0 and the undisputed No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings, but a tough SEC Championship Game matchup against Georgia still looms large.
On Tuesday, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit said Alabama losing to the Bulldogs in the title game would be an “armageddon” scenario for the Playoff committee, and ESPN analytics expert Seth Walder agrees.
Walder joined “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Wednesday and said the Playoff predictor says a potential 12-1 Michigan team would be favored to get into the final four over a 12-1 Alabama team:
What if Georgia beats Alabama?
"Playoff predictor does pretty clearly think that 12-1 Michigan would be the favorite to get in the #CFBPlayoff over a 12-1 Alabama" – @SethWalder

It would be unthinkable to leave this Alabama team out of the Playoff, and many think the Tide are fine even if they lose the SEC title game.
Still, Nick Saban won’t be taking anything for granted, as it isn’t very fun to have to sweat out the selection committee’s decision.
