TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — It’s Thanksgiving, which means the Iron Bowl is inching closer.

No. 1 Alabama is set to host Auburn on Saturday in Bryant-Denny Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT on CBS.

Auburn defeated Alabama 26-14 last season, but Alabama went on to win the national championship after making the College Football Playoff as the No. 4 seed.

Here are 10 bold predictions for the Iron Bowl.

1. Alabama will finish 12-0

This will be the sixth time Alabama has entered the Iron Bowl with a shot at a perfect regular-season record. Alabama has won three of those matchups (2008, 2009, 2016) and lost two (2013, 2017). This Alabama team is special and nothing is going to stand between them and that perfect record.

2. We will see a lot of Najee Harris

Alabama coach Nick Saban said Wednesday that running back Damien Harris is out of the concussion protocol. That’s a positive sign, but it still wouldn’t be a surprise if Harris was limited Saturday afternoon. That would lead to more carries for sophomore Najee Harris. We already see a good bit of junior Josh Jacobs, who is RB2 and the kick return man. This could be one of those breakout games for Najee if Damien is banged up.

3. Tua Tagovailoa will throw for 300 yards

This will provide Tua Tagovailoa with another opportunity to create a Heisman moment. Everyone will be watching as the game is in a prime slot on CBS. Auburn has a suspect secondary. That’s the worst thing to come into Bryant-Denny Stadium with against Tagovailoa and this group of receivers.

Tagovailoa already has the school record with 31 touchdown passes. He enters the Iron Bowl with 2,865 yards. He needs just 135 to become the fourth Tide QB to reach 3,000. He’s 622 yards shy of Blake Sims’ record. It’s only a matter of time before Tagovailoa sets that mark, too.

4. Alabama will top 50 again

Auburn is a quality team with a lot of talent, but Alabama is better no matter how you slice it. With that in mind along with the revenge factor, look for Alabama to come out and punish Auburn for 60 minutes on Saturday afternoon.

Alabama has scored 50 points 7 times already this season. The Tide scored 55 against Auburn in 2014 and 49 in 2012. They’ll give the home crowd plenty more to cheer about Saturday.

5. Jarrett Stidham will throw multiple interceptions

Jarrett Stidham has two games where he’s thrown 2 interceptions on the year. This will be the third. Alabama’s front will pressure Stidham all afternoon and force Stidham into some poor throws. Alabama’s defensive backs will capitalize and make some play on the ball.

6. Auburn won’t rush for 75 yards

Behind a big game from Kerryon Johnson, Auburn rushed for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns against Alabama last season.

Auburn doesn’t have a workhouse running back in Johnson and Alabama’s run defense is more stifling this season.

In 2016, Alabama held Auburn to 66 yards rushing. In 2008, the Tide limited the Tigers to 57, the fewest in series history since Saban arrived.

7. Alabama will cover the huge spread

The spread was a big one as Alabama opened as a 24.5-point favorite over Auburn. That feels like a lot of points, but this Alabama team is capable of covering.

Auburn isn’t good this year. Their offense isn’t as explosive without a feature running back. Look for Alabama to cover the spread on Saturday.

8. Alabama’s offensive line will win the battle up front

Auburn has a really good pass rush, ranking second in the SEC with 34 total sacks. The Tigers are also tied with Alabama for first in the SEC with 87 tackles for loss. But Alabama’s offense line will get the best of Auburn’s talented front Saturday.

Auburn has had multiple sacks in every game except one — it didn’t record any vs. Mississippi State.

9. Jerry Jeudy will find the end zone

This is the type of game that’s set up for Jerry Jeudy. He’s fresh off being named a Biletnikoff finalist so the sophomore will be looking to put on a big performance.

Jeudy leads the SEC with 10 TD catches, but he hasn’t had any in the previous three games. He’ll end that drought Saturday. His next TD catch will tie him with Amari Cooper for second-most in program history. Cooper also holds the record with 16 TD catches in 2014.

Jeudy catch 1 ball against Auburn last year — a 36-yard touchdown grab.

Auburn’s secondary won’t be ready for Jeudy and the rest of Alabama’s receivers on Saturday.

10. Bryant-Denny Stadium will be the loudest we’ve heard it all year

Alabama fans have been waiting for this one after last season. Dixieland Delight is back and Crimson Tide fans who’ll be in attendance are ready to let Auburn’s players hear it.

The atmosphere on Saturday should be electric.
