Former Georgia star A.J. Green was carted off the field early in Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos as the Cincinnati Bengals receiver suffered a non-contact foot injury.

Green made just one catch for seven yards before he left the game.

It was a frustrating turn of events for Green, who missed the previous three games with a toe injury. He practiced on Friday, and appeared to be a full-go for the Denver game.

Green went down with 11:56 left in the first half a couple of steps into running a route without being hit. He had to be helped off the field, then slammed his helmet down in frustration before hobbling to the cart.

He was officially declared out for the game just a couple of minutes later.
