Looking to put his injury history behind him, Chris Allen has reportedly undergone a surgery heading into Alabama’s upcoming spring practices.

The sophomore linebacker missed all of the 2018 season after injuring his knee during the preseason. That followed a true freshman season that saw Allen participate in seven games. Allen signed with the Crimson Tide out of Louisiana as a four-star prospect in the 2017 recruiting cycle.

The good news is his recent surgery is not expected to sideline him for spring practice, according to Matt Zenitz of AL.com. Zenitz also broke the news of Allen’s surgery.

Considering Alabama’s spring practice begins in a few weeks, Allen’s recovery time from the procedure must be short, which is a good indication of his status looking ahead to the 2019 season.
