Mississippi State’s 2020 recruiting class took a major hit Monday night.

Four-star WR E. Jai Mason (Clinton, Mississippi) decommitted from the Bulldogs. He had been committed to MSU since early November of 2018. However, things have apparently changed.

“First and foremost, I would like to thank Coach Moorhead and the Bulldog family for giving me the opportunity to play for my home school and making me feel at home in Starkville,” Mason wrote on Twitter. “With that being said, I’m announcing my decommitment from Mississippi State University. They will always be a top school throughout this entire process. Now my recruitment is 100% to any and all schools. Thank you! Please respect my decision!”

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound prospect is ranked as the nation’s No. 44 WR and the state of Mississippi’s No. 5 overall prospect for the class of 2020, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Following Mason’s decommitment, MSU has eight commitments in the class 0f 2020.
