Ha Ha Clinton-Dix’s stay in Washington was a quick one as the defensive back is returning to the NFC North division.

The former Packer was traded by the franchise midseason to Washington but is now headed to Chicago, according to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network. Clinton-Dix will now get two opportunities to make Green Bay pay for its decision to move on from one of the best ball-hawking safeties in the NFL.

However, the opportunity to play against Green Bay wasn’t Clinton-Dix’s main attraction to joining the Bears. According to Garafolo, the defensive back had other options on the table.

“Ha Ha Clinton-Dix gets $3.5 million on his one-year deal from the Bears, source says. He had more on the table elsewhere but it sounds like he wanted to join that Chicago defense and be reunited with his Alabama teammate Eddie Jackson,” Garafolo tweeted out.

The NFL insider then got some blowback on why Clinton-Dix would leave a Washington defense loaded with former Alabama defenders over playing with Jackson in Chicago.

“He and Jackson are tight. One of a few factors in signing. Didn’t sound like he loved his time in Washington,” Garafolo responded on Twitter.

While he may have moved on from his college career, it sounds like Clinton-Dix’s heart remains in Tuscaloosa.
